Since we’ve come back after Christmas we have been trying really hard with our writing. Well done to everyone, they all did really well and we are so proud of them all!
This week we were very lucky as we went on a trip to The Christmas Forest. We have been waiting for this trip for a long time, when we arrived we were greatest by our own friends elf. We had lots of fun creating our own robin. We then went on an exciting walk around the forest. It was then time to meet Father Christmas. We all had a lovely day.
During our RE afternoon today we were very lucky to have a special visitor. The children ‘welcomed’ Sam into our class with open arms and made lots of gifts and presents for him.
This week we are learning about the world and everything in it. We had a walk down to the local shop to buy foods from around the world. Thank you to all the parents that helped. We then talked about healthy and foods that aren’t healthy.
After learning the Jack and the Beanstalk story, we have been looking at different types of seeds and beans. We’ve decided to try and grow cress. We have learnt that plants need sun and water to grow so we’ve given our seeds plenty if that. But some seeds we’ve given no water to and no sun light. What will happen next…..?
Yesterday we found some unusual objects, we didn’t know what to do with them. We decided to put them in a pot of soil. This morning we couldn’t believe our eyes! A ginormous beanstalk had appeared! We were so shocked, we called Mr Salt the caretaker on the walkie-talkie and he couldn’t believe his eyes either! We think someone could be up there…..
We decided to make some yummy porridge this morning in English. We mixed the water and oats together and put it in the microwave. When we go it out of the microwave it was too hot to eat so we decided to go for a walk whilst it cooled down. But unfortunately, whilst we were gone somebody had come into our classroom! Whoever it was had made a mess of our classroom and eaten our porridge! We felt very cross! We think it could’ve been Goldilocks!
